Introducing

Joanne, affectionately known as Jo, founded her care company after a deeply personal journey through the healthcare system while caring for her mother, who passed away in 2016. This experience exposed her to the challenges of accessing quality care and reliable information, fueling her dedication to improving the lives of vulnerable adults.

Driven by a natural passion for caring, Joanne has excelled in the health sector, finding her niche as a frontline worker. Known for her keen listening skills, she builds strong rapport with clients, families, health professionals, and her staff, establishing herself as a problem solver and compassionate leader.

Joanne's commitment extends beyond professional care; she is actively involved in charity work, supporting organisations like MIND, the Alzheimer's Society, Diabetes UK, and Cancer Research UK. She recently took on the challenge of "Step up for Dementia," aiming to complete 850,000 steps in three months, and serves as a Dementia Ambassador, educating the community to dispel myths about the condition.

At her company, Living at Home, Joanne emphasises quality, consistency, and compassionate care, preferring to offer extended visits to ensure thorough service. Her ethos is that care should be a collaborative and consistent effort, involving clients in every step of the planning process to ensure comfort and satisfaction.

Joanne's vision for Living at Home is to make a meaningful difference every day, not just to her clients and their families but also to her dedicated team of care professionals, now recognised as Key Workers. Her leadership and commitment to excellence in care continue to inspire and profoundly impact the Swansea community.
